About

After University I landed my dream job, working in fashion.  Whilst I loved my job and I thrived in the demanding and fast-paced environment, eating lunches on the go and working long hours meant I had to find a way to balance my stress.  I was a keen runner and started yoga as I hoped it would help with stretching and preventing injuries.   Through yoga, I learned skills that allowed me to live better and cope with the stresses of life.  I found my regular yoga practice to be a place of sanctuary.

Fast-forward a decade later, after I had my first baby, my daughter didn’t sleep well, always had a runny nose, and seemed to have a cough a lot of the time, which often turned into croup keeping us all awake most of the night.  Our GP was recommending an inhaler for suspected asthma.  It was an incredibly frustrating period of my life and I felt permanently exhausted.  I lived on toast and jam, cereal and really ‘grab and go’ foods that I knew weren’t doing me any good but like a lot of new mums, I was too tired to do anything else.

Through a chance encounter, I stumbled upon a Nutritional Therapist.  She practically glowed with health and I really wanted some of that in my life, so I immediately booked in to have a consultation with her.

During our initial meeting – which I hoped would address the adult acne I had developed and my general malaise – I had my daughter on my lap.  Immediately the Nutritionist recognised the health struggles my daughter was having and suggested we cut out dairy in her diet for a couple of weeks.   I was sceptical at first (I hadn’t even gone there to discuss my daughter!).   However, over the next two weeks, her health improved dramatically, and she started thriving, whilst the change in nutrition helped me too, by clearing my adult acne and lifting my energy levels within a few months.  By addressing the root cause of the problem rather than just the symptoms, together we were able to fix ourselves from the inside out.  It was revolutionary and at last, I had my glow back!

My purpose in life shifted, and I decided that I wanted to help empower people to take responsibility for their health and give their body the tools it needs to heal itself, in the same way, I had been helped to do.  I decided to retrain as a Nutritional Therapist and Yoga Teacher.

Once I started working with clients, I often found it was not enough just to improve their diets.  They needed to make slight lifestyle or mind shift changes too.  I found I was sharing breathing techniques I learned in yoga or encouraging a stressed-out client with high cortisol levels to give up the treadmill and take up yoga and mindfulness, to finally see the excess weight drop off.  After all, if we are in constant fight or flight mode the stress encourages our bodies to hold onto fat reserves.

Seeing the transformations in my clients when they take a little time and decide to invest in themselves really inspires me; whether it’s addressing digestive issues, bloating, skin complaints, or simply low energy, the results can be quite literally, life-changing.

By fully integrating yoga and nutrition, I feel I can offer my clients a much more balanced and holistic approach to their journey to better health.  I understand the pressures of working and having children, and I am always realistic in my approach.  I know how it feels to be embarrassed about eating a pack of Hobnobs for lunch! I also know, first hand, the effects of poor skin or bloating on our self-esteem.  These conditions are not ‘normal’ and there is another way.

Through yoga and good nutrition, I have found a new appreciation for my body and its strengths, and now I am able to treat my body with respect. This has a snowball effect and has helped to restore my glow.  Let me help you restore yours.
